Foreign media, June 15 news, the World Metals Statistics Bureau (WBMS) on Wednesday released the latest report data showed that the global nickel market supply shortage of 51,700 tons from January to April 2022. For all of 2021, the global nickel market was short by 146,900 tonnes.
At the end of April 2022, LME warehouse reported inventories (including non-warehouse inventory) were 27,200 tonnes lower than at the end of 2021.
Global refined nickel production in january-April 2022 totaled 867,800 tons. The demand is 919,500 tons.
Global mine nickel production in January-April 2022 was 882,700 tons, up 58,000 tons from the same period in 2021.
During the same period, Chinese smelters produced 16,000 tonnes less refineries than in the first four months of 2021, with apparent demand of 481,300 tonnes, up 34,000 tonnes year-on-year.
Nickel production at Indonesian smelters/refineries in January-April 2022 was 321,100 mt, up 16% from the same period in 2021.
Global apparent demand for January-April 2022 increased by 52,000 tonnes year-on-year.
Nickel smelter/refinery nickel production in April was 226,100 mt and demand was 225,700 mt.
