Nickel Canada Has Made A Nickel Discovery At The Deloro Mine in Ontario

Aug 24, 2022

On August 17, 2022, Canadian Nickel received the latest test results from its Deloro mine, marking another significant discovery at the company's newly acquired mine in Ontario.

The Deloro mine is located 9 km southeast of Timmins. Based on total magnetic intensity (TMI), it is 1400 meters long from north to south and 450 meters long from east to west. Ultramafic lithology and nickel mineralization were found in the near point survey.

The most recent drill was centred on hole DEL22-01 with a 0.25% grade nickel deposit 487 m from the hole and a 0.28% grade nickel deposit 91 m from the bottom of the hole. There is 0.26% nickel ore at 393 m from holes DEL22-09.

In November 2021, Canadian Nickel announced the acquisition of 13 mining properties, including Deloro and Reid, to consolidate its regional-scale mining potential in Timmins. These projects are located within a 95 km radius of the Crawford Nickel sulfide project.

Nickel Canada's Crawford project in northern Ontario contains the fifth largest nickel sulfide resource in the world, with a putative resource of 1.4 billion tonnes and a nickel grade of 0.24 percent, and a putative resource of 670 million tonnes and a nickel grade of 0.23 percent. The Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), based on the previous resource assessment, outlined 25 years of operations that would produce 842,000 tonnes of nickel, as well as 21 million tonnes of iron and 1.5 million tonnes of chromium by-products, respectively.
